Kerrville Raquel Rachel Marie DeLeon, 58, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 4, 1946 in DHanis, Texas to Loreto and Amelia Cortez.As a life long resident of Kerrville, Rachel was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She worked for the Kerrville State Hospital in the food service department for 11 years, and in many different capacities she cared for numerous elderly residents of the area. She loved her family dearly, and her animals were her friends.Rachel is preceded in death by her parents.She is survived by a daughter, Nellie Sanchez and husband David of Kerrville, TX son, Michael DeLeon of Kerrville, TX sister, Celia Garcia and husband Roman of DHanis, TX sisterinlaw, Delia Cortez of DHanis, TX Celso DeLeon of Kerrville, TX grandsons, Johnny Limon and David Joshua Sanchez of Kerrville, TX numerous nieces and nephews, her dear pets, and a host of many loving friends and neighborsA Rosary will be held at 7 PM, Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Greg Nevlud as celebrant. The register book is available at the Funeral Home for those who wish to sign it.In lieu of floral tributes, please feel free to contribute to the Kerrville Cancer Center, 218 Sidney Baker N., Kerrville, TX 78028, or to Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
