Ralph Paul Behrens, 84, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on September 28, 2023 at his residence.
Ralph was born November 16, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Albert Bernard and Ella Joree (Horton) Behrens. Ralph grew up in Channelview, Texas. He joined the Navy before graduating from high school and served as a radar operator and air traffic controller. In his six years of service he worked in Spain, Japan, Hawaii, and The Philippines. Later he went back to school on the GI Bill earning a degree in Political Science followed by a law degree from the University of Houston in 1973. He practiced law in the Rio Grande Valley and in Houston.
Ralph married Ocine, a school librarian in Houston. While living in Houston they studied Spanish and enjoyed travelling to Mexico, Central America, and many places in the US. They moved to the Kerrville area in 1994 where Ralph opened a law practice. Always positive, optimistic and fun to be around, Ralph enjoyed helping people during his 50-year law career. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and a past member of The Elks and Rotary. He was a great student of religions, a prolific reader, and a poet. He was also a kind and caring true Christian with a great sense of humor that brought a smile to many faces.
Memorials may be made to Notre Dame Catholic Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
A celebration will be held 3:00 PM on Friday November 17, 2023 at the Hill Country Veterans Center 411 Meadow View Lane Kerrville Texas.
