Phoebe Maree Jewell Ahlgren, 82, passed from this life at a local care facility on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. She was born on November 24, 1936 in Warren, Pennsylvania to parents Myron Eugene and Nelle Maree (Smith) Jewell.

Phoebe attended and graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Pennsylvania. She later attended Millard Filmore School of Nursing to become a registered nurse. She received her Master of Science from State University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. On March 29, 1958, she married E. Warner Ahlgren MD in North Warren, Pennsylvania. They moved to Temple, Texas in 1976 and later retiring in Hunt in 1999.

Phoebe's professional experience included Head of Admissions at Warren State Hospital, Psychology Nursing Instructor at Warren State Hospital, Instructor of Nursing Fundamentals at Millard Filmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY, Professor of Nursing Fundamentals and Operating Room Nursing at Duke University Medical Center as well as Director of Mental Health Care, Desert Hospital in Palm Spring, California.

Her accomplishments include professional ballerina, in Chauntauqua, NY; girl scout leader in Irving, TX; parent/teacher association in Irving, TX; church gift shop angel and president as well as church altar guild president and church vestry of Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Temple, TX. Phoebe enjoyed reading, knitting and was a true animal lover. She traveled many miles across the United States as well as Canada and Mexico with her husband Warner in their motor home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Myron Eugene and Nelle Maree Jewell and brother, Phillip M Jewell.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. E. Warner Ahlgren; sons, Robert Warner Ahlgren of Belton, TX and Ross David Ahlgren (Suzanne) of London, England; daughter, Robin Maree Ahlgren of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Alexandra Jewell Ahlgren, of London, England attending Durham University; Corbin Warner Hunter of San Antonio, TX attending Oklahoma University and Parker Maree Hunter of San Antonio, TX attending George Mason University and sister-in laws, Linda Flint (Jim) and Londa Barrett (Ray).
