Kerrville, Texas Philip Edward Brassell, 63, of Kerrville, Texas peacefully entered into rest August 30, 2003 at a local hospital. He was born in San Marcos, Texas to the late Jefferson Davis Brassell and Pauline Gates Barrett Brassell.Mr. Brassell was a devoted fisherman and hunter, and an accomplished athlete. He attended schools in San Marcos where he was a letterman in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. He was a member of the National Honor Society and was a golfer. Mr. Brassell attended and graduated from Baylor University and attended Law School. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and a longtime employee of Wal Mart, where he truly enjoyed his responsibilities in the Sporting Goods Department.He is preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his sister, Ann Ryan of Ft. Worth, Texas niece, Mayme Greer of New York nephews, Kit McConnico and wife Trish of Austin and John McConnico and wife Sandie of Denmark greatniece, Amelia McConnico of Austin and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 6 PM at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frankie Enloe officiating. Family will receive friends at a reception after the service at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
