Kerrville, TX Peggy Mary Rice Grosser, 91, passed from this life on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at her residenceBorn in Northfield, MN on October 13, 1916, she was the daughter of Edwin Roy and Mary A. Cone Davis Rice. On June 8, 1935, she and Everett Ernest Grosser eloped and were married at the Little Brown Church in Vale, Nashua, IA. They resided in Northfield for 12 years.The couple and three children moved to Donna, TX in 1947. Peggy then began attending Pan American College in Edinburg, TX and in 1969 she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She and Everett obtained their Real Estate Brokers Licenses in 1973. They moved to Kerrville in 1979. Together, they enjoyed traveling extensively.Widowed in 1984, Peggy continued her interest in visiting family, playing duplicate bridge, traveling and researching family lineages. Through her latter efforts she joined the Society of Mayflower Descendants 6, Daughters of the American Revolution, Magna Charta Dames, Colonial Dames 17th C, DAC, DUV, The Alden Society of America, Edmund Rice 1638 Association and the Willard Family Association. She was a valued volunteer for many years at the STVHCS, Kerrville Division and the Kerrville Genealogical Society, Inc.In later years, she authored two books relating to Rice family members and one genealogical book on the Grosser family.She was predeceased by her husband, Everett Grosser on December 23, 1984, her only sister, Rilda Johnson Stanton in 2001, a half brother, Robert Davis in 1936, his son, Gary Jean Davis in 2005 and a nephew, Jeff Johnson in 1994.She is survived by her son, Kent E Grosser and his wife Wanda, of Weslaco, TX daughters, Joella M Schultz and her husband, Rudy, of Tucson, AZ and Susan B. Russell of Wimberley, TX 8 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren 5 greatgreat grandchildren nephews, Curtis Johnson and wife, Alice of Fremont, OH, Vance Grosser of CA and Bryan Grosser and wife Laurie of Northfield, MN: nieces, Jacqueline Johnson McCloskey and husband, CE of Yukon, OK, Maxine Lindenfelser and husband Paul, of Northfield, MN and Marlynn Elwood and husband, Roger of Nerstrand, MN sistersinlaw, V. Jean Larson, Helen Albers and Lois Bendickson all of Northfield, MN.A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1:30 PM.
