Paula Randel

Paula Mecia Angle Randel, 69, of Kerrville entered into rest March 1, 2004 at her residence.Paula Mecia Angle Randel was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on November 27, 1934 to Clarence and Loreen Angel. She spent most of her childhood in Carmi, Illinois where her father worked in the oil business. In 1950 her family moved to Lubbock, TX to pursue opportunities in the West Texas and New Mexico oil industry. She attended Lubbock High School, graduating in 1953 and then attended Texas Tech University.Paula moved to Midland, TX in the mid 1950s and worked for various firms where she met Kent Randel, a 1951 Tech graduate engaged in the advertising business, originally from Dalhart, TX. Mr. Randel was born in and attended elementary and high schools there, graduating in 1947. The couple wed in 1958 in Lubbock. They raised two children, a daughter, Carrie Mecia and a son, Steven Corley, both of who graduated from Midlands Lee High School.Paula was a member of the First Christian Church in Lubbock and Midland. She passed her keen aesthetics in fashion, home decor and culinary talent to her children. Steve is currently an architect in San Francisco, CA and Carrie is an extraordinary craft artist, active in church affairs, and resides in Corpus Christi, TX with her husband, James Painter.In 1999, Paula and Kent retired to Kerrville, TX where they have resided since that time. There they enjoyed the beautiful landscape and mild climate spending time with old and new friends and entertaining visiting family. Remembrances may be sent to Vistacare Hospice of Kerrville, the Kerrville Humane Society, or the American Cancer Society.She is survived by her husband, Kent Randel of Kerrville daughter, Carrie Mecia Painter of Corpus Christi son, Steve Randel of San Francisco brothers, Bill Angle of Pennsylvania, Jake Angle of Houston, TX, and Steve Angle of Washington, DC sister, Anna Bethel of Texarkana, TX brotherinlaw, Lloyd Randel and wife Gwen of Granbury, TX sisterinlaw, Connie Rochelle Weidner and husband Mike of Columbia, MD and her aunt, Mildred Coulston of Duncan, OK.
