Orrin William Sellers, age 83, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas. Orrin was called “Bill” by friends and acquaintances and if you were a close relative or special friend you could call him by his nickname, “Fuzzy”.
Bill was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on December 7, 1940, to Johnny Ward Sellers and Iva Lorraine Cosper. When he was growing up, he lived in Uvalde, Texas where his dad drilled water wells and his mom was a hair stylist. In 1955, the family moved to Kerrville where Bill attended school and graduated from Tivy High School. In 1960 Bill married the love of his life, Brenda Joyce Ferguson and they went on to have two sons, Clyde William Sellers and Michael Ward Sellers.
Bill’s first job was at Kerrville Electric but he worked most of his career at LCRA in Bastrop, Texas. After he retired in 1997, he purchased a farm house in Fredericksburg that was over 100 years old. He spent a lot of happy years there restoring the house with his dad. Bill’s dad loved to hunt for arrowheads and old bottles so Bill inherited his passion for collecting; often looking for that special find and restoring it to its original beauty. He also enjoyed going to swap meets and among the many things he collected were hit and miss engines and motorcycles. Bill’s son, Clyde passed away in an accident in 1981; so, Bill restored a 1929 Ford Street Rod in his memory.
In 2019, Bill and his wife and their son, Mike moved to Kerrville. Shortly after the move, Bill suffered a stroke. Mike became the caregiver; staying by his dad’s side for four years until Mike’s passing in 2023. In the last year; Bill was lovingly cared for by Ali, Yoli, and Daniell; his constant companions and caregivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johhny W. Sellers and Iva L. Cosper; wife, Brenda Joyce Ferguson Sellers; sons, Clyde William Sellers and Michael Ward Sellers.
Bill is survived by his aunt, Mozell Cowsert; numerous cousins; and his special furry friend, Mandy, who never left his side.
Services with integrity, pride, and honor are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home. (830) 895-5111
