Austin Ona Mae Standlee, age 92, of Austin, TX and formerly of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on July 6, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born in Alvarado, TX on December 6, 1914 to Lee Roy and Lillian Wilkerson. She graduated from High School in Itasca, TX. She met her husband of 62 years, Milton Standlee in Corpus Christi, TX where she was employed as a secretary. Ona Mae said that the first time she saw him she knew he was the love of her life. Milton said she took his breath away.The happy couple raised two daughters in Corpus Christi and Augusta, GA. She and Milton moved from Augusta, GA to Kerrville, TX in 1980 to enjoy the beauty of the Hill Country and spend their retirement years doing the many things they enjoyed together: traveling in their RV all the way to Alaska and gardening. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved providing for her family with good humor and a wit. Mrs. Standlee was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kerrville, TX. Her beloved Milton preceded her and perhaps he has said for the last time, I was missing you. She is survived by a sister Anna Doris Jackson of Wichita Falls, TX, two daughters, Patsy Jean Kessler and husband David of Lewisville, TX and Doris Standlee of Austin, TX one grandson, Kevin Kessler and wife Mandi of Keller, TX one greatgrand daughter, Jules Kessler of Keller, TX, along with a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and church family. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Standlee to First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028. A Graveside Service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM, Monday, July 9, 2007 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX with the Rev.
