Kerrville Norman Carl Treude, 88, of Kerrville, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in San Antonio Texas.
Norman was born September 3, 1925, to Carl and Irene Herrmann Treude in Louise, Texas.
Norman graduated from Louise High School in 1942 and completed one year at Wharton County Junior College before joining the Army, and serving his country during WWII. Returning from the war, he attended Texas AM University graduating with a degree in Agricultural Engineering with the class of 1950. Norman farmed cotton with his dad for 1 year and was employed by Mauritz and Co. Grain Dryers.
He met his sweetheart Margaret DeFoor in 1948, and they married June 24, 1956 and started their married life in Ganado, Texas. They moved 4 years later to Bay City, Texas where Norman worked for Gulf Coast Water Co., which became the Lower Colorado River Authority where he retired in 1987 as the General Manager.
While in Bay City they had 2 children, Scott in 1961 and Laura in 1962. These children were the loves of his life. Norman served on the board of the Methodist Church in Ganado, Bay City and Kerrville, enjoying many civic organizations. He became a pilot and flew single engine Cessna airplanes. He coached little league and girls softball with his children and never missed any of the extracurricular activities. He enjoyed golf, water activities and snow skiing with his family. Upon retirement, they moved to El Campo and then to Kerrville in 1995. He and Margaret traveled extensively abroad and across the US in their travel trailer and motor home, enjoyed meeting many friends in the Avion Club, Foretravel Club and GMC club.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents Carl R. Treude and Irene H. Treude.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory, are his beloved wife Margaret D. Treude son, Scott Treude. daughter, Laura Herndon and Husband Jim of Broken Arrow Oklahoma 2 grandchildren, Jessica Herndon , Joshua Corbett and wife Kris and one greatgrandson, Abram brother, William Bill Treude and his wife Betty sisterinlaw, Clydene Wood 2 nieces, Debra Wood Hamman, Pegi Treude Morgan and 1 nephew, Karl Treude.
A celebration of Life Service will be Friday, June 20, at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, Texas with the Rev. Bob Allen Officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made to Childrens Ark First United Methodist, Mustard Seed Ministries of the First Methodist Church or a charity of ones choice.
