Neill Wickliffe Day
December 31, 1945-March 31, 2018
Born of military parents, Rachel and Clyde Day, in Mooresville, North Carolina. moved to Kingsville, Texas as an infant, graduated from King High School, attended 2 years at University of Texas in Austin. In August 1967 he enlisted in the us Army Engineer Corp, where he was assigned to build roads through jungle in Vietnam. Neill was awarded the Bronze Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam
Service Medal and the Army Unit Commendation Medal for bravery under enemy fire. He was honorably discharged in June 1972. Neill returned to UTSA where he earned an accounting degree and worked for the Internal Revenue Service, he retired from the IRS in 2006.
Neill was very active in the First Presbyterian Church; he was ordained as both a Deacon and Elder. He loved music, played the bells, sang in the church choir and was also a member of the Schreiner University Choir.
He was very active in theTheater, building props and acting in plays at the calliou)( Theatre and Playhouse 2000. He also loved to bowl and did so for many years.
Neill is survived by his beloved daughter Rebecca Day, Father Clyde Day, Sisters Elizabeth and Margaret, brother Henry and numerous nieces, nephews.
Neill will be dearly missed.
Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church 800 Jefferson St. Kerrville, Texas 78028. April 21,2018 at 2PM.
