Kerrville Naomi Claudine Tomek, 73, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life at a local hospital on Saturday, December 13, 2003. She was born in Agra, Oklahoma to the late Leroy and Viva Barnard Davis.Mrs. Tomek grew up in the Wichita, Kansas area, living there some 45 years. She married the love of her life, Boyce Tomek on January 6, 1950 in Wichita. She was the pillar behind her husband who retired from Boeing in 1983, after which they moved to Kerrville to enjoy the beautiful Hill Country. Mrs. Tomek was a member of the Maple Street Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas, but she and her husband attended First Baptist Church of Kerrville. She loved people, and had an eternal smile that radiated to all those who were around her. There was never a doubt that she was around if you knew her giggle, as you would be the beneficiary of that wonderful personality. Mrs. Tomek was well known for her happiness and joy in life. She was also an artist. She loved to paint, and did so extremely well, and was also a member of the Good Sams Club. Mrs. Tomek was talented in the area of making bears, and she made many of them for KSTAR and other traumatized children in the area.One of her joys that really made her feel good was being Sunny the clown. She would entertain many the Dietert Senior Center as Sunny, and also enjoyed this contribution to life with her husband as he is well known as Kemo. She and her husband were also known for their status as Amateur Geologist or Rock Hounds. They traveled many miles together all over the country in their Rock Hunting ventures. Her height made her a perfect fit in their endeavor, as she could spot rocks that no one else could.Mrs. Tomek is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Viva Barnard Davis her brothers, Max Davis and Earl Davis.Survived by her loving husband, Boyce Tomek of Kerrville, TX the pride and joy of her life, her daughter, Deborah Westall of Springfield, MO brothers, Wayne Davis and wife Jeanette of Spring, TX, and Raymond Davis and wife Donita of Wichita, KS sisters, Doris Fry and husband Jerry of Wichita, KS and Joy Cooper of Alexander, AR grandchildren, Meliame Vea and husband Aisea, Saite Westall, and Leilani Westall greatgrandchild, Teri Lynn Westall also surviving her are a host of loving friends and neighbors.A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Will Bigott officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
