KERRVILLE Nancy Jane Newman, 67, passed from this life on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at a local hospital in Kerrville, TX. Born in Washington D.C., Nancy was the daughter of Noel Watkins Hare and Doris Pauline Stewart Hare.

Nancy was born on November 25, 1944 and grew up in South Texas, spending much of her time in the Refugio, TX area. It was in Refugio on March 29th, 1964 that she married her husband, David E. Newman. Nancy worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years, eventually retiring to be a full time mother and grandmother. In addition to her family, Nancy enjoyed having plenty of pets, growing flowers, making crafts, and playing games on Facebook.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her beloved husband, David E. Newman of Kerrville, TX daughter, Michelle Newman Kunze and her husband Joe of Bishop, TX, son, David E. Newman Jr. and his wife Ida of San Antonio, TX sisters, Noellene Hare of Augusta County, VA and Emmy Cassidy of Corpus Christi, TX six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.

The family asks that in lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be forwarded to the American Cancer Society or to Saint Pauls United Methodist Church, Kerrville, TX.

A Memorial Services was held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 3 PM at St. Pauls United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
