Nanci Woodard

Nanci Woodard of Hunt, Texas passed away peacefully on December 1, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Woodard was born October 5, in Atchison, Kansas to Richard and Lolita Staines. She married Robert L. Woodard on August 28, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. She used her skills in architecture and design in her business, A. Nanci Woodard Design, in Houston and New Orleans, and was also an accomplished artist. In 1988 she and her husband moved to Hunt, Texas. She was active in the HCAF, and the Hunt Garden Club. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Staines.She is survived by her husband Robert L. Woodard four children, Janice Vallery and husband Earl of Kerrville, H. Dale Woodard and wife Erika of Plano, Trish Kogan of Escondido, CA, and Robert Woodard, II and wife Alison of Wilmette, IL eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Chris Vallery, Michael Boudreaux, Robert Woodard, II, Dale Woodard, Ryan Boudreaux, and Earl Vallery, Jr.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Mike Boulette officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. A Rosary will be held 6:00PM, Friday, December 3, 2004 at Kerrville Funeral Home with family visitation to follow. Donations to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
