Myrtle Thacker

Myrtle Louise Thacker, age 89, of Kerrville passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2002 at a local care center. She was born in Gillespie County, Texas on July 11, 1913 to Bertle Benton Welch and Ida Konradina Eckert Welch. Mrs. Thacker was a very devoted mother who took pride in sewing clothes and cooking for her family. She was very dedicated to her family and provided as much education as they chose to her four children. She enjoyed crafts and reading. Myrtle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Kerrville. She is survived by three sons: Wayne Douglas Thacker of Kerrville, Arlin Glen Thacker of Kerrville and Hal Donald Thacker and wife Patsy of Elgin, TX a daughter Marlene Faye Hawkins of San Antonio, TX three sisters, Nora Welch Friedrich and Augusta Hohenberger both of Fredericksburg, TX and Margaret Lorenz of Johnson City, TX 13 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren, 2 greatgreatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Nichols Cemetery with a family visitation held from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at Kerrville Funeral Home.
