Murl Green Williford passed away May 9, 2005, at the age of 92, in a Kerrville nursing home. He is survived by a son, Gary Murl Gayle Williford of Houston, Texas, and a daughter, Sonja Lea Mike Herrington of Kerrville, Texas six grandchildren, Gary M. Williford, Jr., M. Duane Herrington, Randall S. Williford, J. Michelle Herrington Talent, John S. Williford, and Tara L. Williford Gourley and nine greatgrandchildren.He was born in Stockdale, Texas on May 8, 1913, to James Ernest and Hattie Williford and was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Rachel Pearson Williford sister, Virgie Quinn, and brother, Lee Byron Williford.Murl was a lifelong watermelon farmer and cattle rancher, retired employee of the City of Corpus Christi Water Department, and served as Justice of the Peace in Jim Wells County for 22 years. He was a Baptist Deacon, and was a member of West Shore Baptist Church of Sandia, Texas.Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Dobie Funeral Home Chapel in Mathis, Texas with interment to follow in the Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas. ation will be 68:00PM, Wednesday evening at Dobie Funeral Home.
