Michael Childers

KERRVILLE Michael J. Childers, MSgt USAF, passed away on May 27, 2004 at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, 2 sisters, Ruth Blalock and Laura Berlin, brother Robert, 4 children, Amy Childers, Mike Childers, Scarlet Matter and Dionne Simmons, 8 grandchildren, and one greatgranddaughter, Noah.Born in rural Missouri, Michael would live to travel to the far reaches of the world, serve as a MSGT USAF in WWII, the Korean and Viet Nam wars, and prove himself a real renaissance man forever thereafter. His experiences throughout life shaped him into the wonderful, wise man we all know. He is a husband, a father, and a grandfather. Hes taught everyone so much, especially the power of love for the love he and his wife Linda share is so brilliant that it has outshined any dark. He is a sergeant, an American, a mentor, a friend, a worldclass barbeque grill maestro, and the owner of that contagious, rebounding spirit well always remember. He will be very deeply missed, because our airman is once again wielding wings Those closest to him have chosen to face his departure not with an absolute goodbye, but instead with his own favorite farewellsimply, Love you much. Services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2004, 2:15 PM, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
