Kerrville Melvin Curtis Thomas, 73, of Mountain Home, passed on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2009, in Kerrville, TX after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Melvin was born in Genoa, TX on August 11, 1935. He was very active with his family and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved cat quotYellowquot.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years on and around tug boats on the Gulf Coast. He later started his own company repairing marine gears and converters and also enjoyed doing anything else mechanical.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Mildred his four children, Elisa Major and her husband Jack, of San Antonio, Roger Thomas and his wife, Amy, of Kingsbury, Rhonda Sue Hunnicutt and her husband, John of San Angelo and Elizabeth Nevill and her husband, Forrest, of Luling eight grandchildren two great grandchildren and one due in July.
A Celebration of his life was held at OBannons Funeral Home in Luling, on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
