Melvin Jordan

Melvin J. Jordan, age 80, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at a local care facility. He was born November 21, 1922 in Carter Nine, OK to James E. Jordan and Mary Dessie Fox Jordan.Melvin served in the Army during WWII in the European Theatre from January 1943 until January 1946. He was employed as an administrator with El Paso Natural Gas in El Paso, Texas until his retirement in 1983.Melvin enjoyed traveling the world and took a special trip with his wife, Novella, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Australia.Melvin and Novella moved to Kerrville in 1995 and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters.Melvin is survived by his wife Novella of Kerrville sons, Michael Jordan of Seattle, WA and Gary j. Jordan and wife Judith R. of Lawrenceville, GA granddaughters, Linda, April, Jennifer, Amber, Kristen, Dana and Ashley grandson Matthew and six greatgrandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Garden of memories Cemetery. A family visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel.
