Floresville Melvin Fritz Arnecke, 88, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Friday, December 10, 2010 in a Floresville, TX veterans care facility. He was born on May 7, 1922 in Goliad County to the late Otto Fredrick and Louisa Weise Arnecke.
Melvin served in the Army during World War II. He landed at Normandy with the 8th Infantry Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He moved to the Kerrville area after returning from the war and married the love of his life, Bernice Lee Baacke.
Their first job was on the Naylor Ranch milking cows. Because of that start, he was next able to work for American Pure Milk Co. He later retired from Alton James Used Cars in Kerrville, TX after selling cars for over 40 years. He met and made many friends over the years through the car business, and cherished every friendship that he had been blessed with. Melvin also enjoyed helping Bernice in the care of many children within the Kerrville area.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice and sister, Elizabeth Baacke.
Those left to honor and cherish his memories are his daughter, Patricia and husband Larry Kozielski of Nordheim, TX grandsons, Trevor and wife Mandy Schuenemann of Nordheim, TX and Kyle and wife Lacie Schuenemann of Poth, TX great grandchildren, Ty and Haydyn Schuenemann brother, Elmer and wife Helen Arnecke of Corpus Christi, TX along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.
ation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 5 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.
Memorial Donations for Melvin may be made to the church or charity of ones choice.
