Kerrville Beloved friend and mother, Melanie Austin 44, passed away after a long battle with cancer Saturday Feb 11, 2012 at Peterson Regional Medical Center.

Born in Dallas, TX, she was the daughter of Travis and Phyllis Foley Worley. She has been a resident of Kerrville for many years.

Melanie was a graduate of Duncanville TX High School and then received her BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Her biggest joy was to raise her two daughters, always making an effort to attend any school or sporting events that they participated in.

An avid reader, she also took pride in caring for any animals she could find, her latest joy was Emma, her dog.

A woman of great Christian faith, she was devoted many hours helping others. Her favorite bible verse was John 3:16.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Jason.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her two daughters, Arielle Austin and Peyton Austin both of Ft. Worth, and many friends.

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1PM, reception for friends and family immediately following to be held at Zion Lutheran Church.


Melanie wished to have donations made in her name to help others struggling with cancer. Her daughters have made arraignments to have donations sent in lieu of flowers. Checks can be made payable to Patient Assistants Fund and left in a drop box at services or sent to Cancer Center of South Texas, Attn: Helen, 694 Hill Country Drive, Kerrville Texas 78028.
