Mayroe Cowan

Mayroe Bobo Cowan, 98, a Kerrville resident since 1952, entered into rest on September 3, 2006 at a local care facility.Mr. Cowan was born October 31, 1907 in Wimberley, Texas to Harvey and Rhoda Wilson Cowan. He married Velma Wilmeth Cowan in 1933 she preceded him in death in 1955. He married Anna May Ruff Cowan in 1957 she preceded him in death in 2005. Mr. Cowan was a member of and had been an elder in the First Christian Church in Kerrville, and worked as a salesman for Peterson Auto for over 20 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.Mr. Cowan was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Cowan in 2000.He is survived by his son, David Cowan and wife Deborah of Tucson, AZ daughter, Janice Kennemer of Comfort granddaughter, Michele Smith and husband Tim of Sugar Land two grandsons, Greg Furman and wife Carrie of Dallas, and Patrick Cowan and wife Bernadette of Miami, FL two great grandsons, Aaron Furman and Dillon Smith and sister, Artie Montague of Wimberley.A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Union Church in Kerrville. ation will be 68:00 p.m., Thursday at the Kerrville Funeral Home. Private family interment will be at Glen Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Montague, John Harvey Montague, Jerry Ray Montague, Greg Furman, Patrick Cowan, and Tim Smith.Memorials may be made to the donors charity of choice.
