Maurice Biddy

Kerrville Maurice E. Biddy, 85, of Kerrville, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, December 14, 2011.

Born in King County, TX on October 11, 1926, he was the son of Clarence E. Biddy and Vasta Conner Callicoatte. He was raised by Vasta Conner Callicoatte and her husband, Roy Callicoatte.

Mr. Biddy was drafted into the US Army during the Korean Conflict and served in the Military Police.

Upon returning with an honorable discharge, he returned to Paducah, Texas working as a surveyor assistant then accepted a job in Fort Worth with the SUN Co, as a machinist.

On September 3, 1949, he married Billie Jean Spencer in Paducah, TX, a union that would last 60 years, until she passed away on March 17, 2010.

Later, he and his wife returned to Paducah, Texas. He began a career with Mobile Oil Company as a rigger, and moved up over the years to a supervisor. The company became Exxon Mobile. As his territory enlarged, they transferred to San Angelo. He retired from Exxon with 35 years of service.

After he retired, he and his wife, Billie Jean Spencer Biddy, moved to Kerrville in 1999, to be closer to their family.

A man of strong Christian faith, he enjoyed spending time with his family, treating his nieces and nephews as grandchildren. They always referred to him as quotUncle Biddyquot. He enjoyed family, friends, fishing, cooking, travel, dancing with his wife and to laugh.

In his spare time, he would be found fishing at any river, stream or quiet fishing hole.

He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife, Billie Jean Spencer Biddy.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews, Carole J, Johnston and her husband, Richard, of Kerrville, W.T. Sandlin, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Victoria, TX, Stacy Sandlin of Midland, TX and Ted Sandlin and his wife, Linda, of Junction, TX along with 7 great nieces and nephews.

There will be a private celebration of his life for his family.

The family would like to thank Peterson Hospice and especially Debra Silva of Haileys Heavenly Home, for the wonderful care given to Uncle Biddy.

The family suggests that donations in his name be made to Peterson Hospice or to the Parkinson s Disease Association.
