Matthew Shane Porter, 50, of Ingram, Texas passed from this life on October 11, 2016 at a hospital in San Antonio.
Matt was born August 19, 1966 in Del Norte, Colorado to Jonnie Oren Porter and Wanda Fae Berryhill Porter. He grew up in Dallas and Ruidoso, New Mexico, where he also graduated from high school. After graduation he pursued a career in the food and beverage industry and hotel management administration. His commitment and dedication to this craft quickly elevated him to management in every challenging job he faced. After nearly twenty years working in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area he moved to Waco to pursue his next challenge.
In 2004, upon moving to the Texas Hill Country, Matt met the love of his life, Holly. Holly and Matt were married in 2007, and between the two have 5 children and thirteen grandchildren. Matt was always an incredibly loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He thought of others before himself, always making sure everyone was happy, safe and comfortable in whatever life brought. His loyalty to others was evident in every life he touched, and was truly loved by those lucky enough to be in his presence.
Matt is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Randy, Delphine, and Pamela Franklin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
