Maryn L. Rosson, long time resident of El Paso, passed away peacefully at her home in Kerrville, TX on November 14, 2002.Mrs. Rosson was born to Lige and Hattie Lockett on July 9, 1908 in Cleburne, Texas. She was wed to Joe A. Rosson in Cleburne in 1929 and in 1942 the couple moved to El Paso where they made their home until Mr. Rossons death in 1990.Mrs. Rosson will be remembered for her keen intelligence, sweet nature and rapier wit. Her love for historical research and writing was second only to her devotion to being a loving wife and mother. She was particularly drawn to the lives of the women of the Old West and published many stories about their trials and triumphs. In her later years she became fascinated by the history of a sculpture known as The Boy With the Leaking Boot, and spent years tracing down his origin, history and many current locations. Her most recent book The Mystery of the Boy With the Leaking Boot has been hailed as the definitive work on the world famous sculpture.Mrs. Rosson is preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Grace Long and Mata Henson. She is survived by her beloved sons Joe L. Rosson and wife, Peggy of Austin, and Michael W. Rosson and wife Kathy of Yucaipa, California grandchildren Michael Lockett Rosson of El Paso, and Lisa Paige and Jimmy Rosson of Lubbock as well as greatgrandchildren, Tyler, McKenzie, Simone and Sorrell.She is also survived by her daughters in love Ann Rosson, M.D., Margaret Duke, Sue Ortiz, Delores Brister, Claire Thaman and Gisela Hecklau, and her other family Mable and Craft Harrison and their children, all of whom added much love, kindness, warmth and happiness to her life over the years.The family whished to thank Klaus M. Schroeder, M.D., the outstanding staff of Ameripark Personal Care Center and Vista Care Hospice for their kindness and support.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those desiring to do so make memorial contributions in remembrance of Mrs. Rosson to the El Paso Humane Society which provided her with her long time companions Tiger and Baby.
