Mary Bailey

Mary Albert Bailey (née Zipfel) of Kerrville, Texas died on December 18, 2023 at the age of 90. 

Mary is survived by her four sons Michael, Steven, Adam, David, four daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her brother Joseph.  Mary was married for 66 years and had a close, loving relationship with her husband Julian Bailey. 

Mary was born on August 13, 1933 in Absecon, New Jersey.  She graduated as a registered nurse in 1955 in Somers Point, New Jersey.  She worked hard her entire life caring for her husband and raising four sons in multiple locations throughout the world.   

Mary was an avid gardener and kept a beautiful yard with gardens full of flowers for every season of the year.  She was very house proud and maintained a spotless, orderly home.   She was a loving mother.   Her sons were well dressed and well fed.  Christmas and birthdays were anticipated and exciting with Christmas cakes, Christmas cookies and lots of presents.   Mary had high expectations of her four sons.  We made our beds and kept our rooms tidy.  She checked our homework every evening.    We enjoyed making snowmen, camping, and traveling to see the grandparents.

Mom will be greatly missed.

A graveside service was held on December 27, 2023 at the Garden of Memories in Kerrville.  Memorial donations may be offered to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
