Martin Barrera

Martin F. Barrera, 32, fell asleep and woke up to Jesus the morning of Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at University Hospital, under such wonderful care, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he lived most of his life. He was the eldest of three children.

Martin was and has been battling Leukemia since February, 2017. He was involved in a vehicle accident on October 5, 2018 and made it through so much. The combination of both was just too much.

Martin touched so many lives. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his niece Audrey and nephew Michael. He enjoyed playing poker, pool and guitar. He love animals and watching his niece and nephew play sports.

He was loved unconditionally by his parents Patricia and Lee Beasley, David and Sylvia Barrera, his siblings, John (Sheena), Carmella (Buddy), Brian (Elisa), Margaret Rose and Connie (Ariel); grandparents, Homer, Gloria, Lillian, Tony and Rosie and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

His absence is a tremendous loss to his family and to everyone who knew him. He was a free spirited individual, no wife or kids. His sports cars and motorcycles were the loves of his life. Family, friends and fishing was his way of life!

Martin we love you so very much, say Hello to Uncle Raul Ruiz, Tio Meme, Grandma Olga, Grandma Nika, Grandpa Lupe, Danny Earl, Grandma Flores and Tia Alicia. May all your dreams, wishes and the unimaginable come true for you.

A visitation and time of reflection will be held at 10 AM Saturday November 17, 2018 followed by a 10:30 AM recitation of the Holy Rosary at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1109 North Staples St. Corpus Christi, TX 78401.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on November 17, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
