Marti had an eclectic personality. She could engage you in conversation about numerous topics and especially those from the 60s and 70s. She knew all of the old movies like the back of her hand and could give you the bio of most movie stars from that era. Marti was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, had a soft heart for animals of all kinds and was earning about football and the NBA, especially the San Antonio Spurs. On arriving in Kerrville she immediately fell in love with Bruce, a 19 lb. lovable yellow cat who spent as many hours as he could on her lap. He loved her too.
After a lifetime of living in different states, the opportunity for Marti to move to Kerrville was one that allowed her to reacquaint her life with that of her brother and sisterinlaw, Rick and Sherry Cunningham. Marti was constantly amazed at how nice it was to live in Kerrville because people were nice to her and genuinely cared for her.
Recent discussions between Marti and her brother were about her relationship with God. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was looking forward to seeing Him. She died peacefully in her sleep.
