Martha Lara

Martha Ramos Lara, 66, of Kerrville passed from this life on August 12, 2021 at a local hospital.

Martha was born July 3, 1955 in San Antonio to Pedro and Elvira (Garcia) Ramos.  The family lived in San Antonio until Martha was in 4th grade; then moved to Kerrville.

Martha married Jorge A. Espinoza in 1972, they had four children; and were married for fourteen years. Martha worked at the Corner Store at Schreiner for several years. In 1981, she started working at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital where she served the Kerrville community for 30+ years; retiring in July of 2015.  Following retirement, she lived in Louisiana for over two years; then moved back to Kerrville in February 2018 where she resided with her daughter and grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents; son, Juan “Johnny” Espinoza; and brother, Mike Ramos.

Those left to honor her memory include her former husband, Jorge Espinoza; daughter, Marisa Espinoza; son, Andre Espinoza and wife Crystal; son, Jorge Espinoza and wife Monica; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ramos; brother, Pete Ramos; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank the ICU nurses at Peterson Regional Care Center for their care and support.

Memorial services will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Kerrville Funeral Home with Deacon Jimmy Bill officiating the service.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Kerrville Funeral Home.
