Marjorie Ashley

KerrvilleMarjorie Middleton Ashley, 90, of Kerrville, TX, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at a local care facility.Born in Schenectady, NY on February 16, 1917, she was the daughter of Richard and Margaret Middleton Middleton. After graduating from SUNY, Albany with a BA and MA, she studied at the University of Maryland at College Park. She taught English, French and Spanish in schools in NewYork, Maryland and Virginia.In 1940, she married Ed Ashley and moved to Kerrville, TX in 1976. Ed predeceased her in 1988.Marjorie was active in the American Association of University Women the Hill County Arts Foundation, where she played many parts in play productions the League of Women Voters FreemanFritts Animal Welfare Society Kerrville Performing Arts Society the Literary Club the UniterianUniversalist Society and Riverside Nature Center. Family members include her son, Bill Ashley of Toronto, Canada her daughter, Jeanne Rosen of CA one granddaughter, Beth her sister, Helen Cayton of Kerrville, TX and nieces and nephewsAccording to Mrs. Ashleys wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to any of the organizations that she was a member of.
