Marion G. Mayo, 92, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2005 at a local care facility.Mrs. Mayo was born Marion Gertrude Jose on February 24, 1913 to George Jose and Anna Sweeney in East Orange, New Jersey. She married Rudolph Martin Mayo in 1934, had her first daughter, Joan in 1936, her second daughter, Christine Ann in 1942, and her son, Richard Allen in 1946. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, TX, and was a Eucharist Minister in Boston, Mass, and in Kerrville. She loved to give communion to shutin people. When Sister Mary Ann and Sister Marge moved into an apartment above Mrs. Mayo, she became acquainted with them and helped them when they started the Raphael Clinic, and then worked there one day a week. She previously worked as a tax assessor in Corpus Christi, TX for 20 years, was a member of the Sid Peterson Hospital Womens Auxiliary, and volunteered in the hospital gift shop one day a week. She wouldnt go out of the house without all of her makeup, good clothes, and jewelry on, and her hair always had to be just right. Throughout her lifetime she lived in California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Florida, and Texas.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Her surviving relatives are daughters, Joan Thomas of Kerrville, TX, and Christine Ann Kallas of Corpus Christi, TX son, Richard Allen Mayo of Sarasota, Florida nine grandchildren, and 7 greatgrandchildren.
