Marion Bergin, 90, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2007, at Eden Terrace Senior Living in Arlington, Texas. Sallie Marion Mayer Bergin was born on May 18, 1916 in Birmingham, Alabama to John and Elizabeth Mayer. She attended Birmingham Southern College and also Northwestern University where she graduated with a degree in Library Science. She married David Paul Bergin in 1940. They lived in various cities including Houston before retiring to Kerrville, Texas around 1980. She was the head librarian for the Leon Jaworski Law Firm in Houston. Marion loved to help others as she was a mentor to elementary students, served as a reader in the Christian Science Church, enjoyed music, and traveled extensively with her favorite destination being London. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Paul Bergin. She is survived by nephews, grandnephews, great grandnephews, nieces, grandnieces, great grandnieces, cousins, and her family of Eden Terrace care givers and residents and a host of dear friends throughout the United States. A memorial service celebrating her life will be at 1:30 PM, Saturday, March 10 in the chapel at Eden Terrace Senior Living at 2500 Woodside Dr., Arlington, Texas with her nephew, Bob Bergin, officiating. In lieu of floral arrangements, donations to a local library are encouraged. Marion loved to help people of all ages read.
