Marilyn I. Alcorn passed away on April 20, 2015 at Alpine Terrace Nursing Home in Kerrville, Texas. She was 84 years old. Marilyn was born to Arnold and Mildred Steele on October 18, 1930, in Loup City, Nebraska.
She and her family moved to Hay Springs, Nebraska, where she married Edwin Alcorn in August 1949, they were married for 59 years.
Ed and Marilyn moved to the Kerrville area in 1991 and were active in the Square Dancing community. Marilyn was an avid crafter, a gifted quilter, and had been an active member of the Kerrville Quilt Guild. She was a regular volunteer at the Peterson Hospice Thrift Store for many years.
Marilyn accompanied her loving husband Ed on his career reassignments that enabled them to live in Hawaii, Germany, and many of the United States. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling the United States and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean.
Marilyn is survived by three sons, three sisters and two brothers. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Family Gathering is being planned at a later date. Friends of Marilyn are asked to remember her with a donation in her name to the Alzheimer's foundation of America (AFA) and/or the Peterson Hospice of Kerrville.
