Maria Davila

Kerrville Maria del Rosario Davila Garza Marikita, 85, went home to be with the love of her life, Jose Lorenzo Davila, on October 9, 2013.

Maria was born June 9, 1928 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Valente Garza and Maria de la Luz Soto Garza. In 1955, she met, fell in love, and married her lifelong companion, Jose Lorenzo Davila. Together they shared the joys of raising five children.

In 1979, the family decided to make a life in Kerrville, Texas. Maria was very family oriented and wanted her family together at all times.

In 2001, she lost her husband, Jose Lorenzo Davila.

She is survived by her five children, Alma Calamaco and children, Juan Calamaco, Joey Calamaco, Brenda Calamaco, James Calamaco, and Josh Calamaco Lencho Davila and children, Gladys Gonzalez, Joe Davila, Juan Obiedo, and Gustavo Obiedo Sandra Davila and children, Michael Davila, Claudia, Yvonne Davila, and Joel Davila Francisco Davila and wife Leticia and their children, Frankie Davila, Stephanie Davila, Jelly Davila, Elisa Vela, and Kassandra Vela Carmen Garcia and children, Mary Gomez, Isaih Garcia, Selina Cervantes, and Ana Garcia and 34 greatgrandchildren.

Maria was and always will be the light of our heart. She will be greatly missed and we will always cherish her memory.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM, Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy., Kerrville, TX 78028, with Pastor Juan Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Cemetery. ation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, October 13, 2012 until 9 PM.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to hospice for making her last days bearable, and Yvonne thank you for loving our grandmother unconditionally.
