Kerrville Margaret Z. Prather, 91, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Friday, January 6, 2012 at a local care center. Margaret was born July 28, 1920 in Valley Falls, Kansas, to Frank and Charlotte Kaufman Zimmerman.
Margaret graduated from Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas and immediately thereafter, joined the Army Nursing Corp. Margaret met her husband, Larry Prather, in India where both of them served at an Army hospital during World War II. Following their discharge from the Army, they were married on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946 in the home of Margarets mother in Valley Falls, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents a sister, Mary Zimmerman a brother, John Zimmerman and his wife Teresa.
Those left to cherish her memories include her beloved husband, Larry Prather of Kerrville, Texas children, Barbara Prather of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Janet Simmons and husband Pat of Saginaw, Michigan, Gregory Prather and wife Terri of Austin, Texas, and Michael Prather and wife Hattie of Buda, Texas grandchildren, Matthew Michelle Simmons, Jason Simmons, Christy Brian Murphy, Cody Sylvia Jackson, Julie Jackson and Alexandra Prather great grandchildren, Austin, Carter, Emily, Sammy, Aubrey, Logan, Christopher, Kayla, Dominick and Halia.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10 AM in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home with Pastor Don Rauhut officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
