Margaret Mason

KERRVILLE - Margaret Garner Mason, 92,of Kerrville, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at her local residence. Margaret was born in Dallas, Texas on June 21, 1922 to Jess Barlow Garner and Mary Josephine Elliott.

Margaret grew up in many places in Texas including Collin County, Lubbock and Ralls. On December 24, 1947 she married Thomas J. Mason in Carlsbad, New Mexico. During World War II, Margaret worked civil service at McClen Field in California. Margaret worked as a licensed nurse for Dr. Jones at St. Mary's Hospital in Roswell, New Mexico as well as Peterson Hospital, Kerrville State Hospital and Kerr VA Hospital. In 1989, Margaret retired from Kerr VA Hospital after 70 years of nursing.

She is preceded in death by most of her relatives.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Mason of Kerrville, Texas.

A Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Saturday February 28, 2015 at Kerrville Funeral Home, Kerrville, Texas.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Ralls Cemetery, Ralls, TX.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice supporting a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
