Magene Morris

Magene Canaday Morris, 90, of Waco, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2014, surrounded by her family. Magene was born on December 17, 1923 in Mount Vernon, Texas to Guy Marlin and Mary Alma Knotts Canaday.

On January 27, 1942 Magene married the love of her life, Daniel Littleton Morris. Magene moved to Waco in 1981. She was a dedicated and proud employee of Dillards. She enjoyed doing ceramics, reading, working in her flower beds, watching the birds, visiting the beach and traveling. Above all she loved playing Bridge. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 37 years, soninlaw Ronnie Ault, as well as her sisters Grace Hill and Gyrene Herrera.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her children: Jim Morris and wife Judy of Fort Worth, TX Patty Burgess and husband Jack of Waco, TX Dan Morris and wife Pat of Oklahoma City, OK Elaine Ault of Waco, TX Sara Anglin and husband Milt of Waco, TX twenty two grandchildren thirty four great grandchildren several nieces and nephews along with many friends.

A time of visitation and celebration will be held at WilkersonHatchBailey Funeral Home from 6 8 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Mount Vernon City Cemetery in Mount Vernon, TX.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Regent Care Center and Providence Hospice for their devotion and love of Magene throughout this chapter of her life.
