Mae Kathryn Jones

Mae Kathryn “Kay” Jones, 82, of Kerrville, passed from this life on June 11, 2020.  She was born on August 11, 1937 to parents, Floyd and Dorothy (Nixon) Van Hoozer in Fredericksburg, TX.  She grew up in Kerrville, TX attended Tivy High School married and had six children whom she raised in Oklahoma.  She remarried and built a home on the family ranch on Goat Creek in Kerrville. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and antiquing. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her first late husband, John Ed Sherwood; late husband, Raymond John Jones; parents, Floyd Raymond and Dorothy Mae Van Hoozer; brothers, Floyd Calvin Van Hoozer and William David Van Hoozer; and son, Calvin Douglass Sherwood.

Those left to cherish her memory include sisters, Doris Herring and Mary Duane Murayama; brother, Johnny Van Hoozer; daughters, Jackie Sherwood, Kathy Jewett, Jenette Behrends, Amy Sherwood and son, John Ed Sherwood, Jr.; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 4PM with Rev. Sam Ligon officiating the service.
