Lt. Col. Linn Embry Mann USAF Ret., 86, of Kerrville, Texas entered into rest on July 14, 2006 at his residence. Linn Embry Mann was born December 5, 1919 in Arlington, Texas to Linn Z. and Luna Boley Mann. He married Frances Virginia Mann on June 3, 1942 in Arlington, Texas. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII and retired in 1965. He was a Master Aviator, qualified to fly P40, C47, B24, B29, and B50 aircraft. He received many commendations, and enjoyed living in different places, one of his most memorable being with strategic air command in Morocco. In 1965 he and his wife moved to Kerrville where they made their home. He was a member of the HuntIngram Lions Club and had a love of mentoring young people, and furthering education. Just recently he had authored a book Not Just a Name upon the Wall which is currently being published. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005, and a brother, Worden Mann.He is survived by three brothers, George Boley Mann of Dallas, Texas, Arthur Mann of Ingram, Texas, and Pat Mann of Bryan, Texas three sisters, Zella Lewis of Tyler, Texas, Vesta Ice of Arlington, Texas, and Doris Farrow of Celina, Texas and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Mann officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be 2:15 Tuesday, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. ation will be held 57:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2006 at Kerrville Funeral Home.
