Loyd Smith, Jr.

FREDERICKSBURG Loyd Clarence Smith, Jr., 83, of Fredericksburg, TX passed from this life on October 1, 2013 at a care facility in Fredericksburg.

Loyd was born on September 18, 1930 in Port Arthur, TX at Saint Marys Hospital. He lived in Beaumont, TX then moved to SilsbeeLumberton, TX, and retired in Fredericksburg in 1993. Loyd was Past Master of Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 794 A.F. A.M. from 19992000, and was presented the Golden Trowel Award by Master, David Pucket of the Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge. Loyd was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd C. Smith and Mabel Gibson Smith.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Geneva Smith two sons, Loyd C. Smith III and Joe F. Smith four grandchildren four greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, along with his Masonic family.

Memorial services are to be held at 2 PM, Friday, October 11 2013 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 601 West Creek St. Fredericksburg, TX 78624, with inurnment following in the church columbarium.

Memorials may be made to the S.P.C.A. of Fredericksburg, TX or the charity of your choice.
