Kerrville ndash Louise Hodges passed away Wednesday afternoon October 15 at Peterson Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. nbspMrs. Hodges was born in the Adamsville Community of Atlanta, Georgia on March 9, 1930.nbsp nbspMrs. Hodges spent the first part of her life in Atlanta, Georgia where she was the coowner of the West End Flower Shop along with one sister for many years in the 1960rsquos.nbsp She and her husband later moved to Homestead, Florida where they lived and worked several years before taking some time off to travel around the country in their motor home.nbsp During their travels someone along the way suggested they travel to and visit Kerrville, Texas where they settled in the early 1970rsquos. nbspThey opened and operated Showers of Flowers flower shop on Junction Highway for many years prior to their retirement.nbsp Mr. and Mrs. Hodges resided in Center Point, Texas before Mrs. Hodges moved into Kerrville after Mr. Hodges death in 2003.nbsp Mrs. Hodges was a member of the Calvary Temple Baptist Church and was active in Nursing Home Ministry.nbsp She also did volunteer work at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Kerrville.nbsp nbspShe was preceded in death by her husband Al Hodges, parents Alvin Wesley and Retha Dutton Mauldin and ten brothers and sisters. nbspShe is survived by several nieces, nephews andnbspthree sistersinlaw,nbspall of metro Atlanta, Georgia and many close friends in Kerrville, especially the friends and members of the Del Norte Break Club.nbsp nbspThe family would like to thank Drrsquos Johnson, Silman, Blanc, Mehendale and Hagemeier and all the nurses at PRMC ICU who cared so well for Louise.nbsp nbspA memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Hodges life will be planned for a later date.nbspnbspnbsp
