Lou Ann Hahn, 82, of Kerrville, Texas died on Friday, July 24, 2015 in Kerrville, Texas.
Lou Ann was born September 1, 1932 to Oscar Grenville and Louise Agnes (Baumgartner) Compton in Goliad, Texas. Lou Ann grew up in Goliad on her parents' nursery, and attended Goliad High School where she excelled at basketball and tennis. After graduation, she went on to further her education at business school in San Antonio. She married Eddie Wayne Vollers in 1952 in Goliad, and moved to Victoria to raise her family. Lou Ann moved back to Goliad before settling in Houston for 13 years where she worked as a legal secretary. She married William P. Hahn in 1978 in Houston, and the couple retired to Kerrville in 1980.
Lou Ann was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution - Major James Kerr Chapter and Past Regent of that chapter from 1986 to 1988; a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas - Alamo Mission Chapter; and a member of the Kerrville Garden Club where she served as Past President from 1983 to 1985, and a life member of Texas Garden Clubs.
Lou Ann was a talented artist and pianist, but most of all she was a compassionate, sweet, and loving woman with a genuinely positive attitude.
Lou Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Louise Compton; and two brothers, Thomas Compton and William Compton.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, William P. Hahn; four children, Deah Harling, Mark Vollers, Tracey Conner, and Clay Vollers; step-children, Susan Elliot, Linda Bell, and Michael Hahn; eleven grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Ian, Abigail, Lily, Lucy, Carly, Mallory, Sam, Jessica, and Matthew; and one great-grandchild, Harvey; and triplet great-granddaughters due in August.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM, Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Monsignor Michael Boulette as celebrant. . Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Kerrville Funeral Home with visitation to follow.
Interment will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Memorials in Lou Ann's name may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
