Lorena Crosthwait

KERRVILLE Mrs. Lorena Burton Crosthwait, 84, passed from this life on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at a Kerrville hospital. Born on September 15, 1928 in Archer City, TX to L B and Lorena Ophelia Canada Fields, she grew up in both Young County, TX and in rural Oklahoma.

She graduated from Olney High School in Olney, TX and on October 21, 1950, she married Robert Paul Crosthwait, also in Olney, TX.

She was a wife, mother, and homemaker until 1961 when she went to work in the banking industry. Her first position was at the First National Bank in Odessa, TX. She would eventually retire as a manager of the Nettie Millhollon Educational Trust. After retirement, Lorena and Paul moved from Midland, TX to Kerrville and have resided, where they have made their home since 1997.

Lorena was loved and cherished by her family, especially her grandchildren who called her Nana.

Those preceding her passing were her parents, her baby sister who died at birth, and her grandson, Clinton Newman.

Family left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Paul Crosthwait daughters, Paula Barron and husband Phil, Debbie Agnew and husband Bill grandsons, Philip Barron Jr., Robert Newman, Patrick Barron, Tye Newman granddaughter, Amanda Morrison five greatgrandchildren brothers, W.A. Fields and wife Darlene, W.D. Fields and wife Birdie Jane many nieces, nephews, and a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and church family.

Funeral Services for Lorena will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Western Hills Baptist Church, 2010 Goat Creek Road, Kerrville, TX 78028 with the Rev. Frank Pullin officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 8415 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78229.
