Lola Gray

Kerrville Mrs. Lola Gray of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on May 11, 2009 in her home, at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Gray had been a resident of Kerrville since August, 2007 when she moved from her home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Lola Torres was born April 28, 1928 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Teresa quotMaryquot Rangel Torres and Trinidad Zaragoza Torres. She received her early education at the Annunciation Academy now known as St. Joseph Catholic School in Pine Bluff, completed Junior High School in 1943, and she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1946. She later married and raised 3 children.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, and attended Notre Dame Catholic Church while in residence at Kerrville.

Mrs. Gray was a vested employee of the F.W. Woolworth store until March 28, 1981, when the Pine Bluff store was closed. She worked at WalMart in Pine Bluff for more than 15 years and retired in 1998. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, John and Roy Horn Post 4455, where she held positions as the Ladies Auxiliary President, Senior Vice, Junior Vice, Patriotic Instructor, and Guard. She also served as the District 12 President.

Survivors include a son, Mike Gray, and spouse Lisa, of Fort Smith, Arkansas daughter Janet Persons of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Knoxville, TN daughter Joyce Trotter, and spouse Ron, of Hunt, Texas 7 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.
She is also survived by brothers James J. Torres, Joseph I. Torres, and Raymond J. Torres, all of Pine Bluff, and Robert Torres of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents a sister, Tomacita Cortez a brother, William Torres and infant daughter Michele Gray.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 9AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 412 West 6th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, with Father Warren Harvey officiating. A receptionvisitation for family and friends will take place immediately following the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
