Kerrville Lois Elizabeth Hall Brooks went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2011.

She was born July 12, 1918 to Viola Minnie Fuller Hall and Lloyd Paterson Hall, in Edom, Texas, located south of Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved husband of 65 years, Jimmie Lee Brooks.

While growing up in Dallas, Texas, she attended Trinity Heights Elementary School and Sunset High School. Lois married Jimmie Lee Brooks on November 9, 1935, and they were blessed with two children, Jimmie Lloyd Brooks and Linda Kay Brooks Wilkerson.

In 1948, Lois and her family moved to Houston, Texas, where they lived for 25 years. As a member of West University Baptist Church, Lois taught Sunday School to young girls, and worked with the both the Girls Auxiliary G.A. and Baptist Training Union for several years.

After her husbands retirement from Sears, Roebuck Co. in February, 1973, Lois and her husband lived in Canton, Texas for16 years, where they were members of the First Baptist Church. While living in Canton, Lois and Jim joined the Texas Baptist Men Retirees. They traveled throughout Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico and Hawaii for 12 years, building churches for communities that could not otherwise have built churches except for the donated labor.

They later moved to Gladewater, Texas, where they joined the First Baptist Church. Finally, in 1996, she and her husband moved to Kerrville, where they became members of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved husband of 65 years, Jimmie Lee Brooks.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Jimmie Lloyd Brooks, and wife Angela, of Plano, Texas daughter Linda Brooks Wilkerson, and husband Wiley, of Kerrville, Texas grandchildren, Pat Brooks and wife Amy Chris Brooks and wife Ashley Andy Wilkerson Sandy Paine, and husband Josh Aaron Wilkerson Stepgranddaughter Erica Moss, and husband Scott Great Grandchildren Ava and Cameron Brooks, and Joshua Paine.

ation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2011, at Kerrville Funeral Home from 6:008:00pm.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church in Kerrville, Texas on Thursday, May12, 2011, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories in Kerrville.

Pallbearers include Jimmie Lloyd Brooks, Pat Brooks, Chris Brooks, Aaron Wilkerson, Josh Paine, and Phil Scharnhorst.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to First Baptist Church of Kerrville,
Texas.
