Leslie Theodore Larson, 82, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully at a local hospital on Thursday, December 18, 2003.Leslie Theodore Larson was born on February 3, 1921 to Lars and Thea Hauglum Larson in Mason City, Iowa. Mr. Larson graduated from Mason City High School in 1938. He then attended Mason City Junior College, State University of Iowa, and Iowa State University where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served in the Pacific area for 3 years where he obtained rank of 1st Lieutenant. He went to work for Standard Oil Company in 1948 in Whiting, Indiana, which later became Amoco Chemical, and was Plant Manager at the Texas City Refinery. In August 1971 he was managing or of N.V. Amoco Chemicals in Geel, Belgium. In 1973 he was sent back to Amoco Chemicals Chocolate Bayon Plant as Plant Manager. He retired in 1981. During his life he was active in Lutheran churches serving in many capacities as President of Church Building committee. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Rotary Foundation. Mr. Larson is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Marie.He is survived by his wife Mildred Larson of Kerrville Daughter, Mariana and husband David of Alvin, TX Daughter, Anna Marie and Stovy Bowlin of Cedar Creek, TX Grandchild, Alexandra Vesey of Austin, TX, Sisters, Audrey Johnson and husband Gene, and Bea Larson of Ruthven, Iowa. SisterInLaw, Ruth Weber of New Hope, MN Step Children, Doug and Cathryn Selman of Houston, Mike and Linda Selman of Winter Garden, FL, and T.C. and Donna Selman of Marble Falls, and several GreatStep Children who loved him dearly.Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 624 Barnett, Kerrville, TX 78028.
