LaVera Smith

LaVera Waite Smith, 102, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on January 31, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born on February 15, 1904 in Prophetstown, Illinois to parents, Harold Henry Addie Mae Langdon Waite. She married Edward Allen Smith, Jr., on November 28, 1928 in Prophetstown he preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a former resident of Morrison, Illinois Marblehead and Boston, Massachusetts Portland, Maine and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She has been a resident of Kerrville and a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church for twenty years. She was an avid bridge player and was very musically talented. She had a glorious soprano voice, was a member of the San Carlo Opera Company in New York, and gave voice lessons and recitals for numerous years. She is now singing with the angels and archangels She was a gifted, kind and loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother who will be missed.Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Smith McQuinn of Kerrville, granddaughters, M. Ellen Kenalty of Kerrville, Texas and Sandra L. Burger of Medina, Texas and three greatgrandchildren, Ashlea Kenalty, Curtis Kenalty, and Devon Burger.Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2007 at St. Peters Episcopal Church with Rev. Stockton Williams, Rev. Thomas Murray, III, and Rev. Alan B. Conley officiating.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Peters Episcopal Church Music Fund or Meadow Haven Horse Rescue in Medina, Texas.
