Lauretta King

Weatherford Lauretta Guyon King, 90, passed from this life at a local health care facility on Monday morning, May 12, 2008.Born September 9, 1917 at the Methodist Parsonage in El Campo, TX, she was the daughter of Rev. Alfred and Daisy Hatchett Guyon. Her father was a Methodist minister for many years and worked on the original construction of Mount Wesley Methodist Camp in Kerrville. On August 22, 1937, she married R. Cecil King in Hallettsville, TX. He predeceased her on February 24, 1979. She was also predeceased by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.Mrs. King had been a resident of Kerrville for the past years, recently moving to Weatherford to be close to her son.Mrs. King was active in the First Methodist Church in Kerrville, serving as Secretary to the Administrative Board for three years as President, Secretary and Circle Chairman of the United Methodist Women and Secretary for several years for the Keystone Sunday School Class.Mrs. King retired from Civil Service employment at the Kerrville VA Hospital in 1979.She is survived by her two sons and daughtersinlaw, David and Cyndi King of Houston, Bruce and Beatrice King, of Poolville, TX grandchildren, Wade King of Dripping Springs, Sheri Crawford of Denver, CO, Sheila Carson of Anniston, AL and Daniel King of Houston and 4 great grandchildren.ation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2008 from 5:007:00 PMFuneral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 11:00 at Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be at Garden of Memories, Kerrville, Texas.
