nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspDallas Lahree Smith Munsch Wilson Byee, was a descendent of two pioneer Bandera County families. Her maternal great grandfather, Amasa Clark, settled in Bandera County in 1852 and was the first permanent settler in the county. A statue honoring Amasa is on the Bandera County Courthouse lawn. Her paternal grandfather, Seco Smith, was a famous frontiersman who settled in the county in 1860. Lahree was born on July 26, 1927 in Bandera County to Raymond and Letha Smith. Lahree died peacefully on September 8, 2007 after suffering from Alzheimers disease for several years.Lahree grew up in Bandera County and graduated from Medina Rural School in 1944. When the city of Bandera incorporated in the early 1960s, Lahree was the first city secretary. She had an enjoyable career with Bandera Electric Coop where she worked from February 1948 until her marriage to Joe Frank Munsch, Jr. in May 1948, and then again after his death in 1966 until her retirement in December 1989. Lahree had many long lasting friendships throughout her career with Bandera Electric Coop and from her long life in Bandera as well. Lahree was a member of the Bandera Methodist Church and served as Worthy Matron of the Bandera chapter of the Eastern Star for two years. After her retirement, Lahree enjoyed traveling with her husband Curtis, whom she had married in March of 1980, in their motor home and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Letha and Raymond Smith her beloved Aunt Mamie and the father of her children, Joe R. Munsch, Jr.Lahree is survived by her husband of 27 years, Curtis Lynn Wilson son, Joe R. Munsch and wife Becca of Emory, TX daughter, Diane Schiffers of Colorado Curtiss daughter, Connie Wood and husband John of Niederwald, TX grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Felicia, Hillary, Austin, and Jessica. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.A Funeral Service will be held for Mrs. Wilson at 10 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Bandera Methodist Church in Bandera, TX.
