LaBonna Meeks

LaBonna Masters Meeks passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2018, at her home in Mountain Home at the age of 86. She was born in Harper, Texas on December 4, 1932 to Henry Jefferson Masters and Wilma Marquardt Master. She was raised in Harper with her four brothers and three sisters.

LaBonna married Billy Gene (Doc) Meeks in Medina, TX on September 5, 1951. Together they raised five children, Debbie, Tammie, Evelyn, Bill and Kenny. She was a beloved mother and wife, loved all things outdoors and was a true country girl at heart. LaBonna worked for the Kerrville Telephone Company and retired after 45 years of employment.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Gene Meeks; three brothers, John, Dub and David Masters and sisters, Hazel Cowen and Mineola Merritt.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Walter; sister, Yetta Lou; three daughters, Debbie Tomlinson and husband Dan; Tammie Lanier and husband Steven and Evelyn Burrus; two sons, Bill Meeks and wife Carolyn; and Kenny Meeks; grandchildren, Derrick Tomlinson, Dale Tomlinson, Kacey Key, Krista Bennett, Kolt Meeks, Christy Joy, Jessica Gertry, Shawn Meeks, Amber Meeks, April Meeks, Spence Lanier and Payton Lanier along with six great grandchildren and many others she cared for over the years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Sunset Baptist Church in Mountain Home, TX or a charity of one's choice.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the main chapel at Kerrville Funeral Home at 2 PM with Pastor Dwayne Smith officiating the service.
