KERRVILLE - Kenneth (Wayne) Warshaw, 68, of Slaton, TX, passed away on September 12, 2015 in Kerrville, TX after a brief illness.
Kenneth Wayne was born on April 23, 1947 in Lubbock, TX to Kenneth Edward Warshaw and Artie Faye (Smith) Warshaw.

Ken started his life on a farm in the small community of Kalgary, TX, with his parents and grandparents, Joseph Austin Warshaw and Jess "Doll" Rinker Warshaw. He attended school in Kalgary, TX, Post, TX, and Wilson, TX. He joined the US Army in Oct 1966 and served time in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from Vietnam he worked in partnership with his Dad at K&K Welding in Slaton, TX producing custom made farm equipment, tools, fencing, etc. Kenneth Wayne met his future wife Beverly Allen Warshaw on the farm his Dad was leasing from Mrs. Holland of Post. Kenneth Wayne and Beverly were married on Friday, November 28, 1970 in the Cavalry Baptist Church of Post, TX.

Kenneth Wayne was reinstated in the US Army in Aug of 1973 and was stationed at Fort Ord, CA, Fort Sill, OK, South Korea, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois, South Korea for a second tour, Fort Hood, TX, Kaiserslautern Germany and then returned to Fort Hood, TX. CW2 Kenneth Wayne Warshaw was a Logistician and retired at Fort Hood, TX on August 31, 1991 with 22 years and 8 months of service to his country.

After retiring from the US Army, Kenneth worked for various government contractors, i.e., Electronic Warfare Associates, DynCorp LTD in Kuwait, DynCorp Aerospace Operations at Fort Hood, DynCorp International Services, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Brown & Root Corporation in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lear Siegler, Test Support Command Fort Hood, and Raytheon Aerospace, before his service related disabilities required him to stop working. He was a member of VFW, American Legion, and the NRA and contributed annually to various organizations that supported our Soldiers.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, fraternal and maternal grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his spouse Beverly of the home; daughter, Desire'e Jefferson and husband Keith of Stephenville; son, Dathan and spouse Leyla of Killeen, TX; grandsons, Connor Jefferson of Stephenville, Aydan Strickland of Killeen, and soon to be grandson Zayne Warshaw of Killeen; brother, Ronald Warshaw and spouse Patsy of Slaton, TX, along with their children, David and spouse Lincey of Lubbock, TX, Melody and husband Joaquin Zaragosa and children of Irving TX.

Graveside Services for Ken will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542, on September 24, 2015 at "1100" officiated by David Webb, Pastor of Community Baptist Church, 120 Briggs Road, Killeen, TX.

In lieu of flowers friends and family members may contribute to the Senior Citizens Center of Slaton or Meals on Wheels of Slaton, 230 W. Lynn St., Slaton, TX 79364
